Volunteer

YWCA Knoxville and the Tennessee Valley Values Our Volunteers

Volunteers are an essential part of our organization. Join us on our mission to eliminate racism and empower women; come volunteer with us and make a difference right here in your community!

In 2020, volunteers provided 2,240 hours of service – equating to $65,824 of in-kind donations! Volunteers like YOU are vital to the continued success of our programs and services. Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of our volunteer community!

How to Get Involved

YWCA Knoxville and the Tennessee Valley provides life-changing programs and services to women and families in East Tennessee, but it would not be possible without the many volunteers, donors, and supporters who contribute their time and resources every day to make our community a better place. Whether it’s a one-time clothing donation or a 12-week youth mentoring commitment, there is a place for you at the YWCA!

Volunteers can serve the YWCA in a variety of ways:

Recurring Individual Volunteers: Ready to jump right in? We’d love to have you join us in 2023! Volunteers seeking to serve more than once are required to complete our application process which includes a criminal background check, reference checks, and a one-time orientation. This process ensures the safety of the clients we serve and is mandatory. This opportunity is ideal for individuals looking to volunteer long-term and make a significant impact in our community. Download our volunteer application by clicking here.

Single Service Opportunity: Have a busy schedule? Join us for a one-time opportunity! This is a great way to fulfill service hours or learn more about the YWCA before committing to a recurring volunteer opportunity. Many of our long-time volunteers started out with a single service opportunity!

Group or Corporate Volunteers: Are you a member of a service organization, church, company, or other group that is looking to serve our community? YWCA has a project for you! Groups are perfect for large-scale projects and making a big impact in a short amount of time, while building relationships within your team.
