Programs
The history of the YWCA Knoxville is one of continuous service to the community since its original incorporation date of 1899. Our downtown facility has served the needs of women and families since 1925 and still provides the only transitional housing for low-income women in Knoxville. Additionally, the downtown facility and the YWCA Phyllis Wheatley branch on the east side of Knoxville offer services for victims of domestic abuse, health and fitness programs, leadership training for teens, summer day camp, career and educational counseling for residents, senior citizens’ programming, and after-school programs for at-risk middle-school students.
